“Elrida” is now available!
I’m late in announcing this on the blog. What can I say, life’s been busy.
BUT…
My short story, “Elrida” is published in the Seasons of Romantasy: Winter anthology!
This might just be the best short story I’ve ever written. It’s got magic, a snarky protagonist (and even snarkier horse) a dreamy, magical blademage and a fight scene inspired by the restaurant fight scene inCrouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
(Actually, a lot of the story was inspired by that movie.)

About “Elrida”
Tired of her rigid and dull life in the palace, Elyn Evergreen steals a Elrida, a prized, magic sword that was a Winter Solstice gift to her father from the Blademage, Ryker Thornfold. With the help from her rather opinionated horse, Reckless, she escapes north with Elrida. But she doesn’t count on Ryker tracking her down (or remembering her) in a tavern far from home. But Ryker isn’t the only one who wants Elrida, and when the sword’s (and Elyn’s) safety is threatened, Elyn must learn that it’s not the sword that makes the person, before things turn deadly.
I know we’re about halfway through winter (unless, like me, you live in the cold white North, then we have a long way to go…), but it still makes a wonderfully cozy read, if I say so myself.

Let me know if you’ve read it! I’d love to hear what you thought and which story was your favorite, even if it wasn’t mine. 😜
