Starting a health journey can be very exciting, but a little intimidating. I know when I started to make the transition to better, cleaner eating, it took a long time to learn how to read nutrition labels, know what products and resources to turn to, and where to find them!

To help save you time and stress, I’ve put together some of my favorites whether food products, books and other resources, or running items that are actually worth the money.

Favorite Food Products

Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

This is the best ACV in my opinion.  Unpasteurized and full of great bacteria and raw enzymes, this ACV is the original, the queen. I use in dressings, mayos, when making bone broth, and even just making a apple cider vinegar drink.

Bragg’s Coconut Aminos

Coconut aminos are made from fermented coconut sap, and contain about 17 essential amino acids. I use in place of soy sauce, and it has a similar delicious, rich, umami flavor of soy sauce, but without soy or wheat.

Primal Kitchen – Chipotle Lime & Original Avocado Oil Mayo Combo Pack

It’s extremely hard to find a mayo that made without soybean oil or sugar. When doing my first round of Whole 30, I had a very hard time finding a compliant mayo. Primal Kitchen makes several awesome avocado oil mayos that don’t contain sugar or soybean oil. The chipotle lime mayo is AMAZING!

Red Boat Premium Fish Sauce

Who needs MSG when you have fish sauce? Just a dash or two can add some serious flavor to anything. Finding one without sugar or other additives is hard, but this brand is seriously good.

Favorite Running Products

Saucony Kinvara 10

My favorite running shoes by far. 4mm drop, lightweight, yet supportive. Firm and responsive. It’s a neutral shoe, so it’s not for runners with any serious pronation issues, but great starter shoe for beginners, and a favorite or experienced runners.
UCAN Performance Energy + Protein Powder, Vanilla

This is my fuel of choice. UCAN is a superstarch that helps you burn fat as fuel and doesn’t spike your blood sugar. You can read a full review of Generation UCAN here.

This just became my pregnancy and breastfeeding diet bible. This book is full of so much information that most doctors and medical professionals are telling you. Thoroughly researched – it has over 900 citations!- this books is a great balance of legitimate science and practical application.


Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen

An amazing true story about ultra running and some of it’s major players. Author, Christopher McDougall delves deep in to the sport and love or running. Fantastic read.
